Record your screen, webcam, and audio. No sign-up needed.
I've been building BlurWeb for the last 4 years — a privacy tool used by thousands during screen shares and recordings.
After watching so many users struggle with bloated screen recorders — OBS with its 50 settings, Loom forcing you to create an account, extensions asking for every permission — I realized something:
All people need is: open a page, hit record, download. That's it.
So I built the simplest screen recorder possible. No accounts, no extensions, no uploads to some server. Everything runs in your browser. Your recording never leaves your device.
Screen, screen + camera, or camera only.
3-second countdown, then you're recording.
Preview and download your .webm file instantly.
Yes, 100%. All recording happens entirely in your browser using the standard MediaRecorder API. No video or audio data is ever uploaded to any server. Your recording stays on your device.
Yes, when recording your screen you can enable system audio capture. Note that system audio support depends on your browser and operating system — Chrome on Windows and ChromeOS supports it best. On macOS, browser tab audio can be captured.
Recordings are saved in WebM format with VP9 video and Opus audio codecs. WebM files play in all modern browsers and can be converted to MP4 using any free converter.
Yes! Choose the "Screen + Cam" layout to record your screen with a webcam overlay in the corner, or "Camera" to record webcam only. The webcam appears as a picture-in-picture overlay.
Open the Teleprompter panel in the controls, paste your script, and start recording. The text scrolls automatically during recording at your chosen speed. The text overlay is only visible to you — it does not appear in the recorded video.
There is no imposed time limit. Recording length is only limited by your available disk space and browser memory. For very long recordings (over 1 hour), we recommend checking that your browser has sufficient memory.
The screen recorder works best in Chrome, Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers. Firefox supports basic screen recording but may not capture system audio. Safari has limited screen recording support.
